Our Mission
The mission of the ACDC is to create new, affordable, housing opportunities for rent and purchase by low-income residents who make up to 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI). To accomplish this, we will:

Raise funds to acquire a small, distressed, market-rate apartment building and organize the existing tenants to immediately empower them with their own tenants' association.

Rehabilitate the property to a beautiful, like-new status that is both habitable by today's standards and dignified by the standards of the existing residents.

Subsidize the property through tax credits and other affordable housing grant programs.

Divest of the property by converting it from affordable apartments for rent to affordable condos for purchase, giving the existing tenants a right of first refusal.

Reinvest net proceeds from the first project into subsequent properties for deeper impact throughout Aurora.
Our Vision
The 10-year vision of the ACDC is to create an entire tranche of truly affordable condos in Aurora. This will help to both reduce poverty and create generational wealth among Aurora's low-income households, all while avoiding resident displacement and gentrification. We have the potential to transform Aurora's existing eyesore properties into eye candy in a way that has a positive, ripple effect throughout the surrounding communities.
